St Monans is a charming fishing village with local shops, restaurants and a picturesque harbour.

Periwinkle is 100 metres from the Fife Coastal Path. There are particularly lovely coastal walks which take you past the restored windmill to Pittenweem and Anstruther. In the other direction, towards Elie, the path leads you to the old St Monans Kirk and to the impressive ruins of Newark Castle.

Offshore you can visit The Isle of May which has a seal colony and thousands of puffins and other seabirds. There are many good local golf courses and St Andrews is only about half an hour away. The cities of Dundee, home to the new spectacular V&A Museum (due to open in September), and Edinburgh are within easy reach. Read More about St Monans
